The Fashion Archives and Museum of Shippensburg University officially welcomed a new exhibit on April 29.
“Clothed In Beauty: Recent Acquisitions of the Shippensburg University Fashion Archives and Museum” offers a variety of pieces from multiple cultures and places during different time periods around the world. Many of the pieces are connected to their original owners.
In a message about the collection, the director of the Fashion Archives and Museum said the pieces give a “three-dimensional view of the original wearer’s body, taste and preferences in dress in general or a record of a proud personal moment.”
The museum’s faculty, student workers and volunteers have spent countless hours refurbishing and restoring the different pieces, bringing them back to life.
Open Monday through Thursday from 12 PM to 4 PM, this exhibit will be on display until July 29. It is free to SU faculty and students with a valid ID. For patrons outside of the university, the adults admission fee is $5 and senior admission is $4 with children under 12 being free.
