One juvenile was injured and five others were found dead early Sunday morning in Indianapolis.

According to police, shortly before 4:00 AM, a boy was found in the 3300 block of Adams Street suffering from a gunshot wound. Less than a block away, the bodies of 5 more victims and an unborn child were found dead inside of their home.

The juvenile was taken to Riley Children’s Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

Court documents show 17-year-old Raymond Ronald Lee Childs III has been charged with six counts of murder, attempted murder, and carrying a handgun without a license.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Randal Taylor called the charges “welcome news” for the community dealing with the loss.

Childs will be tried as an adult for the murders, and a pretrial conference is schedule for April 21st.
