The United States government is providing free at-home Covid tests to every household in the country that orders them.

Last December and earlier this year the country experienced a shortage of at-home Covid tests after the recent spike in positive cases from the Omicron variant. In response to the shortage, the government decided to buy one billion Covid tests to give out to Americans free of charge. The Biden Administration started giving out half a billion of those tests on January 19th and will continue for the foreseeable future.

There is a limit of only four tests per household. This means that if one person from an address orders the tests, anyone else living at that address will be unable to order them.

The tests typically take seven to twelve days to ship. You can order your tests today at covidtests.gov.
