Music Legend Eddie Van Halen Dies At 65

Legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen passed away following his battle with throat cancer on Tuesday, October 6th. His death was announced in a heartbreaking post from his son, Wolfgang, who also toured with his father in 2007 and 2008.
Van Halen was the main songwriter and guitarist for the band, Van Halen, which was founded in 1972. Notable hits include "Jump," "Panama," "Runnin’ With The Devil," "Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love" and more.
Eddie Van Halen was perhaps best known for his innovative style of playing, which was showcased on his solo “Eruption” from the album Van Halen, released in 1978. Eddie’s style of playing influenced guitarists for generations to come.
Van Halen’s unique tapping style was influenced by artists such as Steve Hackett from Genesis and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.
Van Halen passed away at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California. Eddie Van Halen’s presence will be missed deeply by the music industry.
