SHIPPENSBURG - A new Dunkin Donuts is in the developing stages in Shippensburg Township.
In a proposal from Brehm-Lebo Engineering, the national coffee chain is planning to go on Walnut Bottom Road, by the Holiday Inn Express and Suites and the Interstate 81 interchange. The plan comes after the successful opening of Starbucks at the Shippensburg Shopping Center, also on Walnut Bottom Road, last month. The engineering firm also plans to get rid of a vacant house that sits on the property.
Supervisor Lina Asper told the Shippensburg News Chronicle, “We are happy, a lot of people like Dunkin, just like a lot of people like Starbucks. It’s another business for our community, and we are glad to see that house go away.”
The lot is owned by Avanashi Property, LLC, and was bought in October for $215,000. A public hearing for the Dunkin Donuts development is scheduled for January 6th, 2020 at the Shippensburg Township Building on Walnut Bottom Road. Stay tuned to sutvnews.org as the story develops.
