SHIPPENSBURG - Shippensburg University has been offering free asymptomatic COVID-19 testing along with symptomatic testing since we came back to campus in August. And now, every person that goes into Etter Health Center, on the ground floor of Naugle Hall, for an asymptomatic test gets entered into a raffle to win a prize. And this incentive by Etter Health Center seems to be encouraging students to get tested.
In a brief interview with Madison Beideman, a junior here at ship, she said “they still swab each nostril, but it’s not as intrusive as the symptomatic tests sounds.” She explained that it was a little uncomfortable, but nothing more.
Madison said that the nurse was very friendly, she didn’t have to wait long for the test, and they ensured that she would get the test results within two to three business days. She received her results over the phone, negative. Her relief came quickly, just two days after her test. Although she received her results quickly, she was a little disappointed by the lack of proof of her results. Madison said she would have preferred an email with her test results. But, that was her only complaint about the asymptomatic test.
All testing is by appointment only. You can call to set one up at (717) 477-1458.
